Welcome to Our Editorial Board Members, 2022–24

Volume 16, Issue 3

We are pleased to be able to announce at last our editorial team in its entirety for what will be volumes 16 through 18. As we said in the Winter issue of Volume 15, it’s been a transitional period for all of us here at EASTS. Our editorial board has demonstrated its resilience in soliciting and curating the best scholarship possible, including what might be called “Covid STS,” under the threat of pandemic. And Covid is still very much with us—the controversies over tracing individuals and mandatory vaccination, the disputes over strategies to cope with it, and the challenges it raises have kept haunting STS scholars, and more are waiting ahead for us to comprehend and to respond to.

We are also facing a transitional period in global publishing. We were fortunate to have Routledge as our publishing partner during the pandemic; together we performed brilliantly in fighting the many consequences of Covid that challenged our mission as a scholarly periodical. The darkest time seems to have passed, though general issues of global publishing, such as open-access strategies and flexible subscription plans, remain. Some of our editors have already been considering these issues, as will our new board in the coming years.
