Sean Hsiang-lin Lei, Associate Editor of EASTS and a medical historian well known for his prize-winning book Neither Donkey nor Horse: Medicine in the Struggle over China's Modernity (University of Chicago Press, 2014), will step down from the position he has been serving in so well since 2016. Though still committed to the journal in matters such as the cover team as well as individual editorial tasks, after his formal departure in the fall of 2020 Professor Lei hopes to focus more on his research about the hygiene transformation in Republican China and to facilitate the editorial transition of EASTS to a younger generation.
The editorial office and board would like to thank Professor Lei for his generous support of EASTS and the STS community in Taiwan. We wish him all the very best in his research and hope he will consider EASTS as a platform for his work in the very near future.
