Along with the release of the Winter issue of Volume 16, EASTS’s editorial transition is about to reach its completion. Wen-Hua Kuo, who has served as editor-in-chief since 2016, will pass the editorship to Professor Wen-ling Tu, who is currently our associate editor. As Professor Kuo’s term was entering its final year in 2021, the search for a new editor was set in motion in spite of the pandemic. Although Professor Tu was soon chosen as the most qualified candidate for the post, the editorial transition took longer than anticipated due to the administrative reorganization of our sponsor, Taiwan’s Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST), which last July changed its name to the National Science and Technology Council. Professors Tu and Kuo have been working together to discuss the editorial board for 2022–2024, and planning with our publishing partner to ensure that the transition goes smoothly and maintains our high editorial standards.
