We are extremely pleased to inform readers that two STM scholars have recently been honored with awards for articles published in EASTS: Prof. Li Cho-ying of Taiwan's Tsing-Hua University received the 2011 Zhu Kezhen Award in Hefei, China, and Prof. Kuo Wen-Hua of Taiwan's Yang-Ming University was awarded the 201 1 David Edge Prize in Cleveland, Ohio. As neither of them had a chance to fully express their thoughts during the awards ceremonies, EASTS invited them to write a few paragraphs to do just that. We are proud to have published many fine articles in EASTS since the journal's launch in late 2007; and on the occasion of two articles being recognized by international academic societies, I would like to express my sincere and warmest thanks to all scholars and friends all over the world for what they have done for this young East Asian STS journal.
